In order to support the government's efforts to effectively implement the food fortification program and to follow up on the establishment of the National Food Fortification Coordination Forum through the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency Decree No. 19/M.PPN/HK/03/2024, KFI continues to assist the government in formulating policies, rules and regulations, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of the impact of improving nutrition through food fortification. In this regard, KFI has formulated a draft academic study on Strategic Policies for Large-Scale Food Fortification (FPBB) 2025-2045. On Friday, April 26, 2024, KFI held a public consultation to receive inputs to improve the draft study. Representatives from the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry, POM Agency, Bapanas, development partners and non-governmental organizations, and several experts attended the public consultation.
This activity was opened directly by the President of KFI, Dra. Nina Sardjunani, MA and moderated by Prof. Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto, M.Si. In her remarks, Dra. Nina Sardjunani, MA, said that the Academic Study Concept Document on Strategic Policy for Large-Scale Food Fortification (FPBB) 2025-2045 was made to help translate long-term policies, KFI formulated a Strategic Policy for Large-Scale Food Fortification (FPBB) 2025-2045 as an elaboration of RPJPN direction 2025-2045 to become a reference in the preparation of RPJMN and strategic plans of relevant ministries/institutions. This document is expected to be a reference and can increase the awareness and commitment of all stakeholders to achieve the FPBB goals of increasing the availability of fortified foods for all people, especially those with low income. This effort is expected to support and encourage the creation of superior Indonesian human resources and be able to participate in the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045 to welcome 100 years of Indonesian independence.
The event continued with the presentation of the concept of an academic study on FPBB Strategic Policies 2025-2045 by Prof. Achmad Suryana. The presented study document consists of 5 chapters including Introduction (Chapter 1), Problems and Challenges in Overcoming Micronutrient Deficits (Chapter 2), Learning from the Implementation of the Food Fortification Program (Chapter 3), FPBB Strategic Policy in accordance with the Mandate of the RPJPN 2025-2045 (Chapter 4), and FPBB Direction and Work Plan (Chapter 5). He also expressed his hope to receive constructive suggestions to improve this study document. The discussions and inputs were very comprehensive and helpful. All suggestions and input from all parties will be considered by KFI and the team to improve this document.
